At its April meeting last month, the Brethren of Craigantlet Masonic Lodge of Friendship No. 486 were proud to present a cheque for £1,100 to local charity Angel Eyes NI.

The donation was received by Kerrie Cartmill, Family Services Manager for Angel Eyes NI, which supports parents and carers of blind and partially sighted children across Northern Ireland. The funds were raised through a series of well-supported events, including a BBQ and a charity bingo night, organised throughout the year.
Angel Eyes NI was the chosen charity of the Lodge’s Worshipful Master for 2024, Worshipful Brother Sam Bryans, who nominated the organisation as the primary beneficiary of their annual fundraising efforts.
“Angel Eyes is a charity close to my heart on a personal basis and has assisted my family recently,” W. Bro Bryans said. “I’m incredibly grateful to the Brethren of the Lodge and all those who supported our fundraising events for helping us make this contribution.”
Angel Eyes NI works to ensure that every child with a vision impairment in Northern Ireland has the support and resources they need to reach their full potential. The charity provides essential guidance, services, and advocacy for families, aiming to fill gaps in support, training, and knowledge.
Speaking at the cheque presentation, Kerrie Cartmill said:
“We are so grateful for this generous donation. It will help us continue delivering vital support to children and families affected by sight loss. It's especially meaningful when the support comes from a community with lived experience of the challenges we work to address.”
